I doubt my commitment to sparkle motion

My name is Gladys. I'm in my twenties but I feel somewhere between 45 and 83. I 'm a writer. I love lots of shit and absolutely adore television. Especially: Arrested Development, 30 Rock, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Futurama, Adventure Time, Childrens Hospital, and The Office. What else you wanna know?

HARDEST THING OF MY LIFE.

And I try to do the thing where you write all your ideas just to get them out, but I can’t even articulate my thoughts or decide on one particular plot point and then it’s, ‘But wait, this direction doesn’t make sense, no one is emotionally invested, objective, motive, who are you speaking to, it’s only an eleven minute show and you’re already on page three, DO SOMETHING!’ I can only imagine how bad my head would hurt if I actually went to film school—I wouldn’t be able to type anything up without pre-critiquing the shit out of it. Thank you liberal arts degree for making me consider all the parts of the whole.

I love and hate playwriting just as much, but at least with stage plays you can fall back on continuous location and minimal stage direction. I don’t know when WIDEN ON or CLOSE ON works better than PAN TO or TRUCK IN ON. And what the hell is a ‘REVERSE ANGLE?’ Last time I checked I was writing, not directing. You put in too many specifics and the whole thing dies, too little and your script comes out looking like prose.

Sorry followers, I’m just going nuts like there’s bugs on mah butts. Carry on.
